The Dangers of Webkeys

Hi, if you’re reading this message, you’ve plugged in a webkey that you received in the mail.  Webkeys are not good tools to use for getting the word out to consumers, because they are vulnerable to being redirected for one (which is why you’re seeing this message), and they also type keystrokes directly into your computer.

Second, this little USB dongle is actually typing on your computer…  It pretends to be a keyboard. It could take you anywhere on the Internet, it could change your password, it could install malware, or it could just take you to the website it says it will take you to.

So, take this as a warning for next time, and be glad I bought the domain instead of a bad guy…  Don’t use webkeys.
